ABOUT
Coming in early 2025, A Fertile Heart is a faith-inspired program from Foundation to Year 11 that helps young people cultivate an awareness of their personal identity and confidence as children of God. Founded on authentic Catholic teachings and the vision of human love and sexuality from St John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, it will help them discover the truth and beauty of life, love, and relationships. The program is presented in a series of ready-made lesson modules exploring topics such as the sanctity of human life, sexuality, marriage, and human relationships. By fostering emotional, intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth, A Fertile Heart leads to the holistic formation of young people, allowing them to flourish and reach their full potential.
EMBRACING CHRISTIAN TEACHING
Originally developed in the United Kingdom, this program has been crafted, trialled and tested over a three-year period by Catholic educators, expert moral philosophers and theologians. It has also been granted a nihil obstat, a certificate granted by the Catholic Church verifying that it aligns with Catholic doctrine and morals and is free from error. It is also recommended by goodlove.org, an initiative supported by the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life.
17 TRIAL MODULES/UNITS
We are providing free of charge, 17 modules/units (see below) for primary schools in conjunction with a 54-page A Fertile heart Sampler Book that can be trialled in 2024.
A Fertile Heart also recently received the endorsement of The Most Reverend Archbishop Julian Porteous, Archbishop of Hobart, who said: “…A Fertile Heart offers a refreshing and much needed expression of the Christian understanding of the nature of the human person. It seeks to capture more deeply, the beauty of human sexuality found in the Church teaching.”
